New Plays In The Works
- By developing new plays as well as re-imagining the classics, Geva will help shape the American theatre of the 21st century.
- Geva's new play development programming targets locally emerging and nationally established playwrights, nutures their processes and presents works in progress in a variety of public staged reading events.
- Development opportunities include the thrice-annual American Voices readings, Hibernatus Interruptus winter workshop, the Regional Playwrights and Young Writers Festivals and the Latter Day Playwrights Project.
- Since 1995, Geva Theatre Center has commissioned new plays from Roberto
Aguirre-Sacasa, John Belluso, Gregg Coffin, Eisa Davis,
Rickerby Hinds, Naomi Iizuka, Julie Jensen, Bob Devin
Jones, Julia Jordan, Carter W. Lewis, Michele Lowe
and Kira Obolensky and has presented the world premieres
of works by James Still, John Belluso, Matthew Burnett, Gregg Coffin,
José Cruz González, Kira Obolensky and Dan O'Brien.
