Subscriptions for the 11-12 season are offered in the Mainstage.
While seating in the Mainstage is reserved, seating in the Nextstage is usually general admission.
I am a Subscriber. How do I exchange my tickets?
Exchanging your tickets is easy! Exchanges can be made by phone, in person at the Box Office, or by mail. You will need your subscriber account number to make your exchange. Requests can also be left via voicemail 24-hours a day!
Why do you always ask for my subscriber account number when I call to make exchanges?
We value your time, and having your account number ready allows the Box Office staff to do directly into your account to make your exchange. While we certainly don’t mind, it takes us a little more time to search by phone number (many patrons have several) or by name ("John Smith"). Also, your account number also provides additional layer of security.
I noticed there is a Noon deadline to exchange tickets, but the Box Office doesn’t open until noon.
How can I make the exchange before the deadline?
Early bird? Night owl? No problem! Simply leave us a message! Requests can be taken via voicemail 24-hours a day, 7 days a week! Just call the Box Office and follow the prompts to leave us your information. It’s easy, and a very popular choice!
I have already exchanged my tickets for a show. What do I do now?
Please destroy your original tickets, as they have already been invalidated in our system and cannot be used. There is no need to mail them back or bring them in. Destroying the original tickets helps us prevent possible double seating issues. When exchanging out of a performance, your original seats are immediately released for re-sale. Your new tickets will be mailed to you, unless the new show date is less than five business days away. In those cases, the new tickets will simply be held under your name at the Box Office.
I am a Subscriber. Do I get a discount if I bring a friend to a Mainstage show?
Full 6-show season tickets holders and Flex ticket holders receive a Subscriber Handbook with their ticket package. Inside are six coupons for 50% off additional purchases! Subscribers can save 50% off the regular priced tickets during our regular 6-Show season. (Not valid for A Christmas Carol or summer events.) These tickets can be used for yourself, or to introduce friends or family to Geva!
Being a subscriber, can I get discounts to
A Christmas Carol?
Absolutely! All subscribers, regardless of their season package, are able to purchase tickets well in advance of the general public, and at a discount! There is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase!
I have been a subscriber for MANY years and I requested closer/front row/4th row balcony/aisle seats
for the 11-12 season. Why didn’t I receive them?
When you renew, you are guaranteed the seats you had in the 2010-2011 season. We take our requests for seat changes very seriously, and work very hard to accommodate each patron’s requests. There are a limited number of aisle seats and many patrons request them. In order to accommodate a change request, someone must move out of/give up their seats in order to make them available. Many patrons have also been with us for years, and will always have “first dibs” on renewing their own seats.
The seats that I requested obviously aren’t held by season ticket holders- I see different patrons in them each show! So why didn’t I receive those seats?
Many of our subscriptions seats are held by a family, senior center, social group, college, or corporation for their general use. So while you may see different faces in those seats each time you attend, they still are held for the same subscription- it’s just the individuals using the tickets from their group will change. (Ex: Grandma has two subscription seats, but is in Florida for the winter and gives them to her adult daughter to use. Or perhaps she knew the grandkids would just love to see The Music Man, so she gives her tickets to her grandkids as a gift!) Also, many season ticket holders exchange out of their original seats throughout the year as their personal schedule changes. They still have the option to renew their seats yearly.
My friend mentioned that they are on the Auto-renewal program. What exactly is that?
Geva offers their subscribers the option of signing up for a special early-bird renewal program called “Auto-renewal.” Patrons who sign up Auto-renewal allow Geva to renew their subscription seats automatically with a credit card once yearly, usually in February, before the new season has even been finalized. With being the early bird, you get the worm. Auto-renewal Subscribers get an even better price on their subscription!
If I sign up for Auto-renewal, and my circumstances change, can I change my mind?
Of course! Subscribers can opt in or out of the Auto-Renewal program at any time. Just give us a call.
If I am not on Auto-renewal, what happens?
We will send you your renewal form in the Spring as usual.
When I look at my renewal form, I see a $6 order fee. Why? I am a subscriber!
That’s an easy one! The order fee helps to defray some of the costs of not only processing, but managing the subscriptions throughout the year. We are in in-house Box Office, locally staffed with top-notch employees that are passionate about Geva. When you call, you will not be routed to a ticketing service with call centers located all over the US- you are speaking directly to staff sitting within feet of our stage! Have questions about seating? We have the answers! Lost your tickets and need new ones printed? No problem! We are here to make your personal Geva experience the best it can be.
Why don’t you just roll the order fee into the tickets?
Our subscribers have more tickets! We want to keep your overall cost down, and charging a fee per ticket would essentially deter patrons from becoming subscribers! Keeping the order fee separate allows us to keep the individual ticket prices as low as possible. The revenue from the tickets goes into the production- paying the actors, royalties, set designers, lighting, etc. The order fee funds the Box Office, and helps defray just some of the cost of printings, mailing, and staffing throughout the whole season.
Why is the deadline to renew so early? The season doesn’t even start until September!
We mail out the renewal forms once the season has been finalized by our Artistic Director- typically around March. The standard May deadline affords subscribers over 6 weeks to renew. Geva is proud to have over 12,000 subscribers, and we do need some lead time to process all those forms! In addition, after the renewal deadline has passed, we are then able to release seats that have not been renewed to our waiting list which allows us to see what seats are available for patrons who have requested seat changes. Knowing which seats are available for the upcoming season also allows us to offer them to potential new subscribers. The more lead time we have to do this, the more subscribers we can have on board for the next season. It is our subscriber base which allows Geva to continue to produce top-quality productions each year, even in the face of a challenging economy where other theatres have been forced to close. We couldn’t do it without you!
If I can't afford to pay for an entire subscription in one lump sum, do you have a payment plan?
Geva Theatre Center recognizes that current economic times are challenging and works hard to assure our subscribers the best value for their dollar. We offer multiple levels of subscriptions at many price points, as well as offering split payment options. Please contact our Subscriber Services Manager, Jill Meredith Vinci, 232-1366 x3071 to find the best match for your needs.
I am already paying for tickets, why do you ask me to make a donation?
Revenue from ticket sales covers approx 70% of our budget. The other 30% is underwritten by our generous donors. Geva is proud not only of our productions, but to our commitment to the community and our many outreach and education programs. Did you know that we offer sign interpretation of our performances for the deaf and hard of hearing? Nurture writers developing new plays? Provide audio-description for the blind? Sponsor talk backs with the actors? Invite local schoolchildren to attend live theatre? Please consider making a donation with your renewal. Gifts of any size are greatly appreciated!
